Where Our Money Goes

HCP kids are hard workers, big dreamers, and achievers. Our faculty, staff, and administrators do amazing work with our kids, and they do it on a shoestring budget. The HCP Parent Organization exists to support all of these efforts, both through volunteer hours and fundraising efforts. So where does that money go?

  • Scholarships: The HCCPO is charged with awarding three $500 scholarships to seniors each year. When we have additional funds, we award more scholarships. In 2016 we were able to award one additional scholarship to help a Harding senior fulfill an academic dream.
  • Extracurricular Enrichment: In 2015 the HCPPO was able to provide funds to support Harding’s exchange program with our French sister school Lycée Hugues Capet - Solis, France.
  • Extracurricular Activities: HCPPO fundraising allowed us to offer a safe, fun after-prom activity at no cost to the kids. Students had a blast at LaserQuest and we were happy that everybody who wanted to attend was able to have a good time, without worrying about being able to afford it.
  • Homecoming Activities: The HCPPO helps to fund homecoming activities.  The HCPPO and STUCO worked together to decorate the gym and get flowers for Homecoming candidates and the homecoming king and queen were announced at halftime.
  • Grounds Beautification: Last year one of our parents tracked down a used riding mower that we could afford to help keep the grounds looking good. Many parents generously donate not only their time, but also the use of their lawn and gardening equipment on our parent work days. It’s great to have a major piece of equipment to make that work easier.
