This is my 20th year in education and the third charter school I have worked at. I also taught 7.5 years at the university level. I am really enjoy teaching US History since I have been a grader/reader for APUSH Exam the past five years.
I was born in Honduras but was adopted and grew up in the OKC Area. I moved to the Houston Area during high school and attended Baylor University for my undergraduate degree. I then moved back to Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma State University for my Master's degree. I decided to go back to school three years ago to pursue a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with specific study in Higher Education Administration. I passed my Comprehensive Exam in the Spring of 2020 to become a PhD Candidate. As of the Fall 2020 Semester all I have left it to have my dissertation topic approved and to write the dissertation itself. My topic will deal with how to help student veterans be more accepted and supported so they can finish their degrees.
I am married to my wife of almost 16 years and have twin six year old girls. They keep me busy but I would not trade it for the world. I also have a basset hound named Daisy who may not be the smartest dog in the world but brings us lots of joy!
