At the high school level, college preparation focuses on solidifying a robust academic foundation, deepening college awareness, and honing essential skills and habits that will benefit students in their future academic and career endeavors. A rigorous curriculum remains a cornerstone of this preparation, offering advanced coursework in core subjects such as math, science, English, and social studies, as well as opportunities for dual enrollment and Advanced Placement (AP) classes to ensure students are well-prepared for the challenges of higher education. Additionally, both in regular classes and through our Advisory period, we emphasize the development of effective study techniques, time management, and organizational skills, alongside strong reading comprehension and advanced writing abilities. Finally, all juniors take College Prep 101, which provides our students with a dedicated time and opportunity to prepare for the college admissions process.

As an open-access institution, we welcome any student who wishes to attend and require every student to engage in Pre-AP and AP coursework. In alignment with our Core Instructional Model, rigorous instruction involves Lesson Design, incorporating clear learning objectives, differentiated strategies, and meaningful assessments to monitor student progress. Within the Lesson Experience, teachers employ active, student-centered instructional structures (WICOR) that foster critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. Furthermore, teachers analyze evidence of learning collected during their lessons to ensure that they continuously reflect on and refine their practices through data tracking and analysis, collaboration with peers, and effective communication of progress. Through our Advisory program, we also build intentional support time into our schedule.
