Let’s just say our 1st–3rd graders had a blast with Devon SportsLab in PE at Harding Charter Prep Elementary! Students learned about potential and kinetic energy through fun, hands-on movement activities while also practicing teamwork, communication, and team-building skills.
They were moving, learning, collaborating, and having fun all at the same time! It was a great opportunity for our students to see how science and movement connect!
A big thank you to Devon SportsLab and the OKC Thunder for coming out and creating such an engaging and exciting learning experience for our students!
Today, Lyric Theatre brought a special interactive performance of Oklahoma! (The musical by Rogers and Hammerstein) to our whole school! Our students had the chance to experience live theatre, join in on the fun, and see some incredible performers right here at Harding Charter Preparatory Elementary!

Becoming an Eagle Leader is something to be proud of. These fourth graders completed an application process, participated in interviews, and received teacher references before being selected to serve in this special leadership role.
Throughout the school year, our Eagle Leaders will take on a variety of responsibilities around campus! That includes helping with school safety, assisting students and staff, and, most importantly, helping us build a culture of leadership, kindness, responsibility, and connection.
We are so excited to watch these students lead by example and make a positive impact on our school community.

We had SO much to celebrate from the month of August at HCPES!
Several of our students were recognized as our Awesome Eagles for showing RESPECT and being awesome members of our HCPES family! They were each nominated by a staff member for this incredible award.
A huge shout-out to Mrs. Stefanick’s 3rd Grade Class for winning the GOAT Attendance Award with an incredible 98.55% attendance in August! Way to show up and soar!
And finally, congratulations to Team WATER (Blue) for earning the most points in August! 💧 They’ve earned a Pajama Day!

We have a busy week ahead at Harding! Here’s what our families need to know:
📚 MAP Testing continues for grades K–4 throughout the week. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and arrives at school ready to learn!
🪙 PTO Penny Wars are happening ALL WEEK! Students can participate and help their class earn points. Pennies and bills add points, silver takes away!
📸 Thursday, August 27 – School Picture Day. All students will take individual pictures and classroom group photos. Uniforms are required!
📖 Thursday, August 27 – Curriculum Night | 6–8 PM
We look forward to welcoming families to learn more about what students will be learning this year and how you can support their success at home. Teachers will give presentations from 6:00-6:45 and again from 7:00-7:45. Pick one to attend for your students.
👂 Friday, August 28 – PreK–2nd Grade Hearing Screenings
Students in PreK through 2nd grade (plus new to Harding students) will participate in hearing screenings during the school day.
