Our students recently had the incredible opportunity to hear from guest author Sang Rem, who shared her inspiring book and personal story. Sang and her family came to the United States as refugees from Myanmar, and her message of resilience, perseverance, and hope made a powerful impact on our students.
Experiences like this are a key part of our college preparatory model — exposing students to diverse perspectives, powerful stories, and real-world experiences that prepare them not just for college, but for leadership in a global society.
A special thank you to The Spero Project for bringing this meaningful experience to our campus and helping our students connect with stories from around the world.

I am excited to announce that Vivianne Garcia has been selected as the Founding Principal of our next elementary school, opening Fall 2027.
Vivianne brings a strong background in instructional leadership, teacher development, and campus-based administration. She currently serves as an Instructional Coach at Dove Science Academy Elementary South, where she provides personalized coaching and support for teachers to strengthen instruction and student outcomes.
Previously, Vivianne served with Teach For America as a Manager of Instructional Leadership Development, coaching school leaders and teachers across Oklahoma City—including direct work alongside teams at Harding Charter Preparatory Middle School at Independence—to strengthen instructional priorities, deliver aligned professional development, and build systems that improve student performance. She also brings direct campus leadership experience as an Assistant Principal and Math Instructional Coach at Santa Fe South Shidler Elementary, where she helped lead staff and students through a challenging year without a dedicated campus by implementing schoolwide behavior systems, leading weekly professional development, and maintaining a positive, inclusive culture across split locations while ensuring students continued to grow academically and socially.
Vivianne holds a Bachelor of Science with a Minor in Spanish, earned her Master’s in Educational Administration & Curriculum Supervision, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education, with an expected graduation date of May 2027.

“I am incredibly honored to join the Harding Charter Prep team and step into the role of founding principal. There is a specific kind of magic in building a school from the ground up, and I feel lucky to be doing this work with a group so dedicated to student success… I am ready to roll up my sleeves and help lead this vision as we create a lasting impact together.”
